Baptiste

Lore & Background

Baptiste was born in Paris to parents of Haitian descent and quickly displayed a genius for medicine and engineering. He joined Overwatch not just as a soldier, but as a specialist who could keep his team alive during high-risk operations. His work on biotic technology revolutionized field medicine, allowing him to stabilize critically wounded teammates instantly where traditional medics failed. However, the battlefield took its toll; a specific mission ended in catastrophic loss where he felt powerless to save a close friend. This guilt drove him into self-imposed exile, abandoning his role as a hero to work privately and avoid the pain of command decisions that cost lives. When the world faced new threats and Overwatch was called back into action, Baptiste realized he could not hide forever. The need for skilled healers outweighed his personal demons, prompting his return to the field. He now fights alongside former comrades and new recruits alike, driven by a desire to prevent past tragedies from repeating themselves.
