Story

Inspector "Dirty" Harry Callahan, a San Francisco homicide detective, pursues a drug lord known as "The Anaconda" who has united the city's drug gangs. With the police unable to stop the drug flow or the resulting violence, Callahan sets out to deal with the Anaconda's men himself, eventually facing the drug lord at his secret hideout on Alcatraz.

Film references

The game uses digitized speech for Harry's lines "Go ahead, make my day" and "Do I feel lucky? Well, do ya, punk?". Passwords reference non-Dirty Harry films starring Clint Eastwood: CLYDE for infinite lives (Clyde the Orangutan from Every Which Way but Loose), MISTY for level two (Play Misty for Me), and BIRD for level three (Bird). A password coded into the game, "GUNNY", refers to Eastwood's character in Heartbreak Ridge.
