Arma Reforger

Tactical shooter set in the late Cold War on Everon.

Last updated

Arma Reforger is an open-world tactical shooter developed by Bohemia Interactive, set in the late Cold War period on the fictional island of Everon.[1] Bohemia Interactive's internally-developed Enfusion engine powers Reforger, acting as a proving ground for the technology intended for Arma 4.[2] According to an April 2025 announcement from Bohemia Interactive, Reforger's sales surpassed two million units.[3][2]

Making and release

The game was later released for PlayStation 5 in December 2024.[4][1] The PlayStation 5 version was priced at $39.99 USD at launch.[4] Mod support for PlayStation 5 was added with Update 1.4 in May 2025.[3] The Conflict multiplayer mode pits two or three factions against each other for control of settlements.[5]

Capture & Hold focuses on shorter, more intense firefights for individual locations.[5] An early access launch for Microsoft Windows and Xbox Series X/S occurred in May 2022, followed by the version 1.0 release in November 2023.[1] A solo-player campaign consisting of five missions is included in the game.[5][6] Newcomers can use tutorials to learn the game's mechanics and weapon handling.[5]

The developers provide official mod-creation tools and a workshop for distributing player-made content.[7][6]

What the cited sources add

The official game page describes the single-player campaign as a covert mission behind enemy lines to cripple Soviet defenses on the island of Kolguyev.[6] The same source states that the Enfusion engine allows players to mod the game on PC using the exact same tools used to make it.[6] The Make Arma Not War 2025 competition offered over $100,000 in cash and prizes for mods.[8] Bohemia Interactive evaluated more than 200 entries for the competition, with 33 finalists revealed in September 2025.[9]

The PlayStation 5 release announcement noted that modded content would not be available at launch, but cooperation with Sony was ongoing to bring the feature later.[4] The competition's victors were scheduled for announcement on November 5, 2025.[9]
