One Piece season 11

The Straw Hats prepare for Fishman Island on Sabaody Archipelago.

Last updated

The eleventh season of One Piece was produced by Toei Animation under director Hiroaki Miyamoto, adapting Eiichiro Oda's manga. It ran for 26 episodes on Fuji Television between late 2008 and mid-2009.

Most of the season focuses on the Sabaody Archipelago arc, where the Straw Hats arrange to coat their ship for the voyage to Fishman Island. While there, they encounter former enemy Hatchan, his friends Camie and Papaggu, and Gold Roger’s first mate Silvers Rayleigh, along with nine rookie pirates called the "11 Supernovas." After an incident at Camie’s auction, the crew and other pirates are attacked by top Marines, including Warlord Bartholomew Kuma. The final two episodes continue the "History Drama Boss Luffy" storyline from the fourth TV Special and the ninth season.

The season uses two opening themes: a cover of the original "We Are!" by TVXQ (titled "We Are! (Animation One Piece 10th Anniversary Ver.)"), and from episode 395 onward, "Share the World," also by TVXQ. DVD compilations were released in Japan in early 2011, with the first two on January 7 and the last on March 2. The season’s episode count and title were announced in the One Piece Movie 10 Guide Book, "One Piece-Pia." In North America, Funimation reclassified the season as the end of "Season Six" and start of "Season Seven" for DVD release, while Australian sets were renamed Collection 31 through 33.
