I Am the Cosmos
Posthumous solo album by former Big Star member Chris Bell.
I Am the Cosmos is the sole solo album by American musician Chris Bell, released posthumously in 1992 by Rykodisc. Bell, a former member of Big Star, produced the recordings himself in the 1970s, and many of the songs reflect his embrace of Christianity. The album was remastered and reissued in a deluxe two-CD version in 2009 by Rhino Handmade, and a later edition by Omnivore Recordings in 2017 expanded the track list to 35 songs.

Critical reception
Newsday described the playing on Bell's tracks as often hit or miss and the production erratic, but acknowledged Bell's talent and lack of self-confidence. The Los Angeles Times observed that Bell's obsession with the Beatles' spirit seemed complete. The Orlando Sentinel called the album lovely and terribly sad with a Badfinger-esque structure. Trouser Press labeled it a beautiful and disturbing Syd Barrett-by-way-of-Badfinger album of erratic, haunted pop music.
