Playing career
Goc first appeared on the international stage as a youth, taking part in the 1992 and 1993 Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournaments with a squad from Baden-Württemberg. The New Jersey Devils selected him 157th overall in the 1997 NHL entry draft. He suited up for 13 games with the Devils, recording no points and four penalty minutes. On November 9, 2001, New Jersey sent him, Josef Boumedienne, and Anton Butt to the Tampa Bay Lightning in exchange for Andrei Zyuzin. With the Lightning, Goc played nine more NHL games, again failing to score a point. His North American career also included time in the American Hockey League with the Albany River Rats and the Springfield Falcons. In 2002, he headed back to Germany, first joining Adler Mannheim and later moving to Hannover. During the 2005–06 season there, he put up 17 goals and 13 assists for 30 points across 50 games. By February 1, 2011, in his sixth season with the Hannover Scorpions, he signed a two-year contract extension to stay with the club. When the Scorpions folded in the DEL, Goc returned to his original team, the Schwenninger Wild Wings, who had purchased Hannover’s league license on July 18, 2013, to re-enter the top division. He also represented Germany at the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano and the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, helping the team reach the quarterfinals before a 5–0 loss to the United States.
