Lin Shih-chia (born 20 May 1993) is a Taiwanese archer who has earned four career medals—one gold, two silver, and one bronze—at major events including the Summer Universiade, the World Championships, and the Summer Olympics.
She first gained international attention at the 2015 Summer Universiade in Gwangju, South Korea. There, she helped the Taiwanese trio of Hsiung Mei-chien and London 2012 Olympian Tan Ya-ting defeat the favored South Korean women 5–3 in the team recurve final to win gold.
Later that year, at the World Championships in Copenhagen, Denmark, Lin added two silver medals to her tally—one in the individual recurve and one in the mixed team recurve.
Lin was chosen for Chinese Taipei’s archery team at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, competing in both the individual and team recurve events. Two months before the Games, she led the Taiwanese trio to victory over Estonia at the World Archery Cup in Antalya, Turkey, securing one of three women’s team spots. In the Olympic classification round, she scored 651 points with 15 perfect tens and 6 bull’s-eyes, earning the ninth seed among 64 archers, while her team’s combined score of 1,932 placed them fourth. After losing to eventual champions South Korea in the semifinals, Lin, Tan, and Le Chien-ying rebounded to beat Italy 5–3 for the bronze medal. In the individual event, Lin defeated Egypt’s Reem Mansour in the first round but lost 2–6 to India’s Bombayla Devi Laishram in the next match.
