Plot
The sequel has an overarching story across six levels, set in the 1960s with Earth divided into four regions. The Agent, a spy for the Enhanced Operatives Division of The Agency, must protect the Prime Minister of the Mediterranean Commonwealth from a Zoraxis attack at a theater where John Juniper performs. After thwarting the attack, the Agent boards an autonomous jet with Juniper, who reveals he works for Zoraxis and directs the plane toward a Zoraxis airbase. The Agent stops a missile and redirects the jet; Juniper calls the Agent a pesky phoenix, earning them the nickname Agent Phoenix. The Agent then visits a workshop owned by The Fabricator, who builds masks for Juniper. There, the Agent and Handler learn Zoraxis is kidnapping heads of state and using a Mimic Mask to impersonate them for nuclear launch codes.
Reception
The game received generally favorable reviews on PC and PS4 according to Metacritic. Critics enjoyed it but noted its short playtime and limited replayability. IGN rated it 8/10, praising its callbacks to spy classics while introducing unique tricks. ScreenRant gave a positive review, highlighting the overarching plot as not overwhelming and supported by strong writing and voice acting. The game was nominated for Immersive Reality Game of the Year at the 25th Annual D.I.C.E. Awards.
