The remote detonator triggers the explosives Danny Ocean's crew uses to open the Bellagio vault in Ocean's Eleven (2001). The explosives come into the vault disguised as jewels in Saul Bloom's briefcase; Yen places them on the vault door and waits for Danny and Linus to trigger them from outside.

In the heist
Linus Caldwell backs Danny up by bringing extra batteries for the remote detonator, which turns out to be crucial. With the explosive "jewels" the crew destroys the vault locks and secures the cash.
