Within Destruction

History

Within Destruction got its start in the Slovenian town of Jesenice back in 2010. Two years later, they inked a deal with Austria’s Noisehead Records and dropped their first full-length, From the Depths, on September 15, 2012. They later moved to Germany’s Rising Nemesis Records for their sophomore effort, Void, which came out in 2016. Their third album, Deathwish, was released independently on March 30, 2018, with mixing and mastering handled by Fit for an Autopsy guitarist Will Putney. That September, they signed with Unique Leader Records and put out a reissue of Deathwish the following month. To support it, they hit the road across Europe in 2018 alongside Stillbirth and Walking Dead on Broadway, then toured the United States in 2019 with Lorna Shore, Enterprise Earth, and Bodysnatcher. On August 12, 2020, they released Yōkai, their fourth album, which blended hip-hop, pop, electronic music, and Japanese themes. Their fifth album, Lotus, arrived on September 30, 2022 via Ultra Heavy Records, pulling in nu-metal, metalcore, anime, and electronic influences. On December 1, 2023, the band surprised fans with an EP called Rebirth, featuring guest spots from Signs of the Swarm’s David Simonich and Distant’s Alan Grnja; this release ditched the Japanese and nu-metalcore sounds in favor of a return to their original deathcore style. Their sixth album, Animetal, came out on April 11, 2025 through Sumerian Records, bringing back nu-metalcore, electronic music, and Japanese themes. In support of Animetal, the band headlined tours across Europe, Australia, and Asia.
