Making and release

Seven Seas planned to release the series in print and on digital platforms in single large-trim editions.[1] Arvo Animation produced the anime, directed by Akitoshi Yokoyama, with Keisuke Makino handling series composition, Hiromi Kato designing characters, and Yasunori Mitsuda composing the score.[2] Starting in December 2016, Shogakukan released seven volumes of the series through their Gagaga Bunko imprint.[3] From March 8, 2018, until March 3, 2023, a manga adaptation drawn by Sojihogu was published serially on Kodansha's Comic Days website.[4]

Two tankōbon volumes collected the manga.[3] Funimation secured the license for the series outside Asia, while Medialink obtained it for the Asia-Pacific region.[2]

What the cited sources add

The Seven Seas Entertainment press release describes the Union's Nosferatu Project as using vampires as spaceflight test subjects.[1] The same release notes that Lev Leps, a Union soldier and aspiring cosmonaut, is tasked with overseeing vampire Irina Luminesk, designated N44.[1] The press release describes the story as a supernatural science fiction tale that served as the inspiration for the current season's new anime.[1]
