Overview
Or Records launched in 1998, debuting with a CD remaster of a 1995 vinyl that had originally come out on Mego Records. Between 1998 and 2003, the label issued 15 releases at a steady but unhurried pace. Its motto is "it's a or". The catalog numbering system assigns a distinct word to each release followed by its number, like "UNLESS 1", "ORCDR 2", "ONLY 3", and so on up to "JUST 13". Its audio magazines follow the more conventional "ISSUE 1" and "ISSUE 2" pattern.
Artists
The label’s roster includes CD_Slopper, Earth, Farmersmanual, Gescom, Zbigniew Karkowski & Helmut Schäfer, Francisco López, MAZK, Daniel Menche, Shirt Trax, and Stützpunkt Wien 12. Hecker and Incapacitants appear only on compilations. Two audio magazines were released, each a CD paired with a booklet: Or Some Computer Music (1999) and Or Some Computer Music 2 (2001), both showcasing computer music artists.
