Evan Pettiwhisker Tildrum is a young king who was usurped from his castle and sets out to build a new kingdom. He is the rightful heir of Ding Dong Dell, a kingdom featuring the cat-like Grimalkin and mouse-like Mousekin races. After his father's untimely death, Evan prepares to assume the throne but is forced to flee when Mausinger, his late father's advisor, stages a coup. Assisted by his governess Aranella, who sacrifices herself for their safety, Evan escapes with Roland Crane, a former president of the United States of America who has been transported to this world in the body of a cat-like Grimalkin. Evan promises to establish a new kingdom where everyone can be happy and free.

Evan's journey begins in Ding Dong Dell, where he is the child and rightful heir of the House of Tildrum. After Mausinger poisons the previous king and stages a coup, Evan escapes with Roland. They travel to Cloudcoil Canyon to reach the Kings' Cradle to seek out a Kingmaker. There, they are joined by sky-pirates, their boss Batu, and his daughter Tani. Evan undergoes a trial to make a bond with a new Kingmaker, succeeding and being joined by the tiny Lofty. After settling in an unclaimed plain area, they establish the nation of Evermore. Evan learns of Ferdinand, an ancient king who once united the kingdoms of the whole world through a 'Declaration of Interdependance', which inspires Evan to do the same. He convinces the rulers of Goldpaw, Hydropolis, Broadleaf, and Ding Dong Dell to sign the declaration. The party eventually confronts Doloran, who reveals he was once a king from a long lost Kingdom that disappeared in a single day. After defeating the Horned One, Evan convinces Doloran to start anew and rebuild his kingdom. The post-credits scene shows an older Evan as king, but the exact timeline and Evan's fate remain ambiguous; Evan had already achieved his dream of uniting all countries in the world during his reign.

Evan is the main protagonist of Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom. He is a child and the rightful heir of Ding Dong Dell. After being usurped from his castle, he sets out to build a new kingdom. Players can freely navigate Evan throughout the game's overworld. In battles, players use magical abilities and are assisted by elemental creatures known as 'Higgledies', which are used to cast spells and grant other combat bonuses. Evan's party includes Roland Crane, Tani, her father Batu, Leander, and Bracken Meadows. The game was released for PlayStation 4 and Windows on March 23, 2018, for Nintendo Switch on September 17, 2021, and for Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S on March 21, 2023. It received generally positive critical reception and sold over 900,000 copies worldwide by May 2018.
