Tom Seaver, nicknamed 'Tom Terrific' and 'the Franchise', was an American professional baseball pitcher who played 20 seasons in MLB, primarily for the New York Mets. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest pitchers in baseball history and is the most iconic player in Mets history.

Seaver won the National League Cy Young Award in 1969, 1973, and 1975, all with the New York Mets. He also won the NL Rookie of the Year Award in 1967. Seaver was a 12-time All-Star and ranks as the Mets' all-time leader in wins. He pitched a no-hitter in 1978 and was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1992.
