Professional career

De'Mornay Pierson-El's pro football journey began when the Washington Redskins picked him up as an undrafted free agent on May 2, 2018, though they let him go later that month. He then tried out with the Montreal Alouettes, but after dressing for just one game, he was cut in August. For the 2019 season, he joined the Salt Lake Stallions in the Alliance of American Football. When that league shut down, he signed with the Oakland Raiders on April 8, 2019, was waived on August 31, then brought back to the practice squad on December 4.

That contract expired on January 6, 2020. Meanwhile, the St. Louis BattleHawks had selected him in the 2020 XFL draft on October 16, 2019, and he signed with them on January 7, 2020, but the league suspended operations on April 10, ending that deal. He returned to the Raiders (now in Las Vegas) on April 30, 2020, was waived on September 5, re-signed to the practice squad on September 30, and released on October 21. On June 17, 2021, he signed with the Denver Broncos, was waived on August 31, re-signed to the practice squad on September 6, and released on December 21.

He later signed with the New Jersey Generals of the USFL on December 16, 2022. The Generals folded when the XFL and USFL merged to form the United Football League.
