Last updated

Alpha Males (Machos Alfa), a Spanish comedy from Netflix, was created by siblings Alberto and Laura Caballero. It debuted on 30 December 2022 and has been picked up for five seasons. The fourth season arrived on 9 January 2026, followed by the fifth on 17 April 2026.

Cast and characters

Gorka Otxoa plays Santi Peralta, a trained architect bored with his surveying job who goes on Tinder dates arranged by his daughter to move past his ex-wife. Fele Martínez portrays Luis Bravo, a traffic police officer whose marriage to Esther suffers under modern parenting pressures. Fernando Gil appears as Pedro Aguilar, a wealthy TV producer fired in the first episode and made financially dependent on his girlfriend Daniela. Raúl Tejón plays Raúl Camacho, an immature restaurateur whose masculinity is challenged when his girlfriend Luz requests an open relationship, though he is frequently unfaithful.

Paula Gallego plays Álex, Santi and Blanca's 17-year-old daughter who encourages her father to date. Raquel Guerrero plays Esther, Luis's wife and a driving instructor frustrated by her declining sex life; in the third season she pursues acting and stand-up comedy. María Hervás plays Daniela Galván, a successful influencer whose lifestyle challenges Pedro's traditional attitudes. Kira Miró plays Luz, a divorce lawyer who is more intelligent and successful than her boyfriend Raúl.

Karol Luna plays Patricia, Pedro and Daniela's Peruvian maid who becomes pregnant with Stefan in the second season. Santi Millán plays Patrick, who runs the deconstructing masculinity course the friends attend. Víctor Massán plays Diego, the group's gay friend who suggests the course and later opens a restaurant with Raúl. Cayetana Cabezas plays Blanca, Álex's mother and Santi's ex-wife, who is disorganised and dependent on Santi.

Production

The series concept was developed after the COVID-19 lockdown, when the Caballero siblings, with co-writers Daniel Deorador and Araceli Álvarez de Sotomayor, began creating a show about middle-aged men's reactions to social changes. With permission from Mediaset España, the four writers brought the series to Netflix, who had shown interest in collaborating with the Caballeros. Alpha Males was announced in March 2022 as the Caballeros' first exclusive streaming series.

The cast was revealed in July 2022, with filming already completed. Ahead of season 3, the show was renewed for a fourth season, which finished filming in July 2025. A German adaptation was announced, with French, Dutch, and Italian adaptations in production.
