Buried Secrets (film)

Plot

Annalisse Vellum and her mother Laura Vellum move back to Laura's hometown after the death of Annalisse's father. They rent the home of Laura's old school classmate, Clay Roff, whose teenage daughter Mary disappeared earlier. Clay invites them to dinner, where they meet his wife Danielle and young daughter Heather. Annalisse begins having nightmares about a woman falling over a cliff and is haunted by Mary's spirit. She suspects foul play in Mary's disappearance and the death of Mary's mother, Ann. Her mother, Clay, and Danielle suspect Annalisse has a mental disorder. Annalisse becomes interested in a local man, Johnny Toussard, upsetting Mary's spirit. Clay warns her against him, but they see each other, provoking Mary's wrath. Danielle convinces Laura to have Annalisse temporarily committed. After release, Annalisse investigates Danielle's past, discovering Danielle drugged Mary and likely murdered Ann. Mary possesses Annalisse, confronts her father, and rides her horse to trample and kill Danielle. Clay reveals Danielle murdered Ann, drugged Mary, and drugged Annalisse to keep her silent. Danielle had an affair with Clay and was pregnant, plotting to marry him. Clay had buried Mary's body by the cliff, believing Mary killed her mother and then committed suicide. Mary's spirit thanks Annalisse and vanishes. Annalisse reunites with Johnny.
