Joe Gibbs

Three-time Super Bowl-winning coach who founded Joe Gibbs Racing and its five Cup championships.

Joe Jackson Gibbs (born November 25, 1940) is a former NFL head coach and current auto racing team owner. He coached the Washington Redskins from 1981 to 1992 and again from 2004 to 2007, racking up nine playoff berths, four NFC Championship wins, and three Super Bowl titles across those sixteen seasons. He is the only head coach to have won Super Bowls with three different starting quarterbacks. In 1992, Gibbs and his sons launched Joe Gibbs Racing, a NASCAR team that has since captured five Cup Series championships with three different drivers and three different manufacturers. Gibbs was voted NFL Coach of the Year in 1982 and 1983, was selected as one of ten head coaches on the NFL 100th Anniversary All-Time Team, and is the sole person enshrined in both the Pro Football Hall of Fame and the NASCAR Hall of Fame.
