History
It began as a band called Kerberos, formed in May of that year by drummer and vocalist Johan Ericson, bassist and vocalist Jesper Stolpe, and guitarist Andreas Hindenäs. Their early sound was melodic death metal with black metal influences. Seven months later, Anders Jacobsson joined as lead vocalist and lyricist, and the group changed its name to Draconian. Susanne Arvidsson contributed guest vocals. Around this time, Andreas Hindenäs left the band, and Johan Ericson moved to guitar, leaving Jerry Torstensson to take over drums. The band's progress then slowed because two members had to fulfill their military service. It was made available both online and on CD. The demo earned good reviews, and the band finally secured a record deal with Napalm Records.
