Magical Girl Witch Trials

A dark magical girl death game with witch trials and time-rewinding powers.

The game follows Sakuraba Ema, Nikaidō Hiro, and eleven other girls identified as potential witches imprisoned in a remote island mansion.[1] Its gameplay cycles through four phases: story interactions, investigation of a murder, a Witch Trial to identify the culprit, and execution.[2] Acacia, a creative brand operating under Re,AER, developed the 2025 mystery adventure game Magical Girl Witch Trials, which was subsequently published by Circle Line Games.[1]

Making and release

A Microsoft Windows release occurred for the game, and the Nintendo Switch version became available on July 9, 2026.[3] Crowdfunding, which began on April 19, 2024 and continued through the end of June 2024, provided partial funding for the game's development.[4] After the crowdfunding campaign launched, its initial goal of 2 million yen was met in roughly ninety minutes.[4] The final total raised was about 66.8 million yen, which is 33.4 times the original target, and this enabled the inclusion of full voice acting in the game.[5]

Puella Magi Madoka Magica, Danganronpa, and Steins;Gate were named by the development team as influences on the project.[5] On August 28, 2025, a manga adaptation drawn by Tokitō Setsuna began serialization.[6] A reading play took place on May 10, 2025, and a CD version of that performance is scheduled for release on April 22, 2026.[6]
