Drafting, also known as slipstreaming, is an aerodynamic technique in which two moving objects align closely to exploit the lead object's slipstream, thereby reducing overall drag. This technique is especially significant at high speeds, as seen in motor racing and cycling, where it can substantially reduce the average energy expenditure of a paceline and even slightly reduce the energy expenditure of the lead vehicle.
