Lore & Background
The 2027 season marks the end of the 1000cc era, with engine capacity reducing to 850cc. The maximum cylinder bore decreases from 81 to 75 millimeters, and the maximum number of engines per rider per season drops from seven to six. Aerodynamic changes include shortening the top of the front fairing by 50 millimeters and pushing the nose back by 50 millimeters, with aero components behind the rider homologated and limited to one update per season. Ride-height and holeshot devices are banned. All competitors gain access to GPS data from all riders at the end of each session. Fuel must be 100% sustainable, assessed via the C14 test, and can be bio-fuel or e-fuels obtained by direct atmosphere-capturing. Fuel tank capacity reduces from 22 to 20 liters, with 11 liters allowed for the Sprint race. The concession system resumes with all manufacturers starting in Rank B. Pirelli becomes the sole tyre supplier on a five-year contract until 2031. Wildcards are banned regardless of concession rank.
