Food fight

A chaotic throwing of food, often festive or comedic.

A food fight is a form of chaotic collective behavior in which foodstuffs are thrown as projectiles, typically not intended to cause harm. Though often associated with juvenile settings such as schools, food fights have a long history as festive public entertainment, dating to the early Middle Ages in Europe. Notable organized events include Spain's La Tomatina, Italy's Battle of the Oranges, and China's Tofu Festival. Food fights have also occurred in the Legislative Yuan of Taiwan and are a common element in slapstick comedy.
