History
On October 11, 2012, the Pompano Beach, Florida based Titan Fighting Championships was acquired by the Resurrection Fighting Alliance, along with certain fighter contracts and its television deal with what is now AXS TV. The goal was to combine talent under the RFA banner. Titan FC owner Joe Kelly became vice president of the merged company, and Ed Soares acted as president. Kelly bought back Titan FC in 2013 and produced two more shows. RFA had its first AXS TV broadcast on November 2, 2012, with Resurrection Fighting Alliance 4: Griffin vs. Escudero. Legacy Fighting Championship, based in Houston, held events in several cities and featured notable fighters including Carlos Diego Ferreira, Leonard Garcia, Holly Holm, and Valentina Shevchenko. Legacy FC first aired on HDNet on July 22, 2011, with Legacy Fighting Championship 7: Dollar vs. Prater, and later extended its deal through 2016 with AXS TV.
Promotions
On May 8, Legacy FC and Resurrection FA teamed up for a co-promoted event under the AXS TV FIGHTS banner, called AXS TV FIGHTS: RFA VS. Legacy Superfight. The headlining bout matched the Legacy FC and RFA flyweight champions for the AXS TV Super Fight title. Two Legacy FC fighters also faced off to determine a new lightweight champion, while the RFA bantamweight champion put his belt on the line against a top contender from the same organization.
Broadcasting
After roughly two and a half years of airing LFA, AXS TV—owned by Mark Cuban—was sold to Anthem Sports, which then shut down the AXS TV Fights division. At UFC 244, UFC Fight Pass became LFA’s exclusive broadcaster. That deal was extended through 2025 on November 8, 2021. On January 7, 2026, LFA left UFC Fight Pass and signed a new broadcast agreement with Vice TV.
