Dwyane Wade played the most games in Miami Heat history and also holds the franchise record for most career assists. Wade was selected fifth overall in the 2003 NBA draft by the Miami Heat. He teamed with Shaquille O'Neal to lead the Heat to the 2005–06 NBA championship, winning Finals MVP in his third season. Wade later formed the Big Three with LeBron James and Chris Bosh, and the trio led the Heat to the NBA Finals each year from 2010–11 to 2013–14, winning two championships.

The arena lights hummed over the hardwood as Wade stepped onto the court for one final home game. The crowd rose in unison, a sea of red and black jerseys waving toward the man who had played more minutes than any other player in franchise history. He didn't need to score; his presence was the record itself.

Wade was a guard who played three seasons of college basketball for Marquette University, leading the Golden Eagles to the 2003 Final Four.
