Plot

According to legend, the Goddess Valdis created two daughters: Alagath of Light and Myrgato of Darkness. Myrgato attacked Valdis in the holy city of Sitheil, and Alagath's subsequent battle with her sister sank the city. In the present day, four protagonists—Reina, Wyatt, Gilda, and Vladyn—are on a sea voyage searching for a Knight in Myrgato's Dark Army. They are attacked by massive sea creatures and pulled into the submerged city of Sitheil, which persists underwater encased in a barrier that allows humans and feral creatures to live there. Alagath's Angels and Myrgato's Demons still occupy areas of the city, vying for supremacy. Each protagonist sets out to find the separated ship's crew. Aided by remaining humans across several towns, they uncover the truth behind Valdis' supposed death and the war between Alagath and Myrgato. Old texts reveal that the world of Erebus is a living entity connected to all humans through spiritual energy. Powerful beings called Tyrant Gods emerged from another world, drawn by this energy, and ruled humanity until a rebellion led by Valdis, who awakened to powers over death, defeated them. Valdis became a goddess and created Alagath and Myrgato to watch over humanity. Seeking solitude, she lived among the Goibniu warrior tribes in frozen wastelands, which later became the prosperous city of Sitheil.

Gameplay

Valdis Story is a side-scroller where the player controls one of four protagonists, each with unique weaponry and magic. The undersea city contains several freely traversable zones. Items grant new abilities, such as creating ice platforms to access previously unreachable areas. RPG elements include loot drops from enemies, experience gain from combat, and a skill tree for acquiring new combat skills upon leveling up.
