History
The club began in the 1890s as St Mary's Youth, founded by the local vicar. It soon changed its name to St Mary's Swifts, and then in 1895 became New Street. After folding in the 1950s, it was brought back to life in 1961. The team started in the Andover & District League before moving to the North Hants League.
In 1976, they entered Division Four of the Hampshire League and won it straight away, moving up to Division Three. They won that division the next season too, earning a spot in Division Two. When the Wessex League started in 1986, many clubs left the Hampshire League, and New Street moved up to Division One. They came last in Division One in 1989–90 and were sent down to Division Two.
The very next season they finished second from bottom and dropped again, this time to Division Three. But they bounced back as runners-up in Division Three in 1991–92, returning to Division Two. The following season they were runners-up in Division Two, which earned them another promotion back to Division One. In 1999, Division One was renamed the Premier Division.
Two years later, in 2001, the club changed its name to Andover New Street. They finished as runners-up in the Premier Division in 2003–04 and also won the League Cup. That was the Hampshire League’s final season, as it merged into the Wessex League. The club joined the new Wessex League Division Two, which was renamed Division One in 2006.
In 2017–18, they were runners-up in Division One, which meant promotion to the Premier Division, and they also won the North Hants Senior Cup and the Andover Open Cup. The 2018–19 season saw Andover New Street play in the FA Cup for the first time. They finished last in the Premier Division that year and were relegated back to Division One, but they held on to both the Andover Open Cup and the North Hants Senior Cup. In 2021–22, the club came second in Division One and entered the promotion play-offs, losing 3–0 to Laverstock & Ford in the semi-finals.
The next season they won the Division One title, earning promotion to the Premier Division. In 2024–25, they finished fifth in the Premier Division, beat AFC Stoneham on penalties in the play-off semi-finals, and then lost 2–1 to Fareham Town in the final.
