Nurse Love Syndrome

Nurse Love Syndrome (白衣性恋愛症候群, Hakuisei Ren'ai Shōkōgun; literally "White Robe Love Syndrome") is a yuri visual novel from Kogado Studio's Shimarisu-san Team, written by Sakusa Sakura. The series is often shortened to "ShiroKoi," using the first two kanji of the first two words of the full title. The story centers on Kaori Sawai, who, after being rescued by hospital staff during a childhood accident, decides to repay them by training as a nurse. At age 21, she begins her first day at the hospital, where she encounters people—some linked to her past.

As a visual novel, gameplay is minimal: the player advances the narrative by pressing a button and occasionally selects choices from a menu, which affect the story and lead to different endings.

The game first released in 2011 exclusively for PlayStation Portable. In 2012, an expanded version titled *Hakuisei Ren'ai Shōkōgun RE:Therapy* launched for Microsoft Windows and PSP, adding extended storylines for the original main characters, new routes for previously minor characters Yasuko and Ami, and a new character, a middle-school girl named Mayuki. On April 19, 2019, a version of *RE:Therapy* with improved character sprites and event scenes came out in Japan for Windows, PlayStation Vita, and Nintendo Switch. The Windows version was released in English and Chinese as *Nurse Love Syndrome* on April 19, 2019, published by Degica, while the PlayStation Vita version received a digital-only English and Chinese release later in May 2019. The Nintendo Switch version that launched on December 26, 2019, is a port of the original *Nurse Love Syndrome*, not the 2019 *RE:Therapy* version with improved sprites.

A sequel, *Hakuisei Aijō Izonshō* (白衣性愛情依存症; literally "White Robe Love Addiction"), debuted on PlayStation Vita on April 30, 2015, with a new cast and art style. It later released for Windows on December 25, 2015, and for Nintendo Switch on May 24, 2018. An English and Chinese Windows version came out in 2016, followed by a PlayStation Vita version in 2017 under the title *Nurse Love Addiction*. The localizers changed "White Robe" to "Nurse," likely because nurse uniforms outside Japan are no longer exclusively white. A physical Nintendo Switch bundle containing both *Nurse Love Syndrome* and *Nurse Love Addiction* was published by Limited Run Games as *Nurse Love Obsession*.
