Joey LaMotta
Jake's younger brother and one-time manager, played by Joe Pesci in Raging Bull.
Giuseppe "Joey" LaMotta (April 27, 1925 – December 29, 2020) was an American boxer. He was the younger brother of former world middleweight champion Jake LaMotta and also served as his manager for a period. Joey had a brief professional boxing career in 1945 and 1946, finishing with a record of 32 wins (22 by knockout), 5 losses (1 by knockout), and 2 draws. In the 1980 biographical film Raging Bull, which focused on his brother's turbulent life, actor Joe Pesci played Joey LaMotta. Pesci earned an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor for this role. Joey's son, John LaMotta, was an actor and an amateur boxer who competed in the heavyweight-novice division of the 2001 Golden Gloves tournament. Joey LaMotta died on December 29, 2020, at the age of 95.
