Premise
Hasunosora is marketed as a departure from earlier Love Live! series, following virtual school idols and being together with school idols over 365 days. Unlike VTubers, it includes multimedia elements such as real-life live shows and emphasis on voice actresses. Producer Kazuki Satō stated in 2025 that the original idea was to create a comprehensive multimedia mix experience within a single app, allowing users to read the original story, enjoy live streaming, and experience live music. The in-universe story takes place at Hasunosora Girls' High School in Kanazawa, Ishikawa Prefecture. The story progressed in real time, with members graduating and departing at the end of the academic year, while new members joined at the start of the next school year. Graduated characters occasionally returned for cameos. Live streams called With×MEETS and in-character concerts called Fes×LIVE were conducted on the app, with motion capture used for voice actresses to appear as their characters in 3D.
Characters
The School Idol Club was divided into three units from the start. Cerise Bouquet is the oldest unit, described as cute and traditional. Kaho Hinoshita, an upbeat and innocent girl, was joint president during her senior year and graduated with the 103rd class. Kozue Otomune, former club president during the 103rd and 104th class years, came from a musical family and graduated with the 102nd class. Ginko Momose, a third-year student from a family practicing Japanese traditional dance and embroidery, becomes club president during the 106th school year. Dollchestra focuses on serious and emotional songs. Sayaka Murano, a figure skater invited by Kaho, graduated with the 103rd class. Tsuzuri Yūgiri, an aloof girl with a cat-like side, graduated with the 102nd class. Kosuzu Kachimachi, a third-year student from a fishing family in Tsuruga, Fukui, idolized Sayaka and can be hesitant but eager. Mira-Cra Park specializes in lively and chaotic music, with songs like the 104th class version of Identity incorporating ska punk themes.
