Love Island Australia season 3

Islanders compete for love and a $50,000 prize.

Last updated

The third season of Love Island Australia premiered on the Nine Network and 9Now on Monday, 11 October 2021. It was presented by Sophie Monk and narrated by Stephen Mullan.

Format

Love Island places a group of contestants, called Islanders, in a villa in Byron Bay isolated from the outside world under constant video surveillance. To remain in the villa, each Islander must be coupled with another Islander, whether for love, friendship, or money; the winning couple receives $50,000. On the first day, Islanders couple up based on first impressions, but over the series they must "re-couple," choosing to stay together or swap. Any Islander left single after a coupling is eliminated.

Public votes via the Love Island app determine which Islanders or couples are most popular, and those with the fewest votes risk elimination. Islanders may also vote each other off. In the final week, the public votes for the winning couple, who then open an envelope to decide whether to split the $50,000 equally or take it all.

Coupling and elimination history

Lexy arrived after the first coupling and on Day 3 chose to couple with Ryan, leaving Ari single. After a re-coupling, Courtney was single; Aaron, Chris, and Taku, based on Australia's vote, chose to dump Rachael. New arrivals Nicolas and Zoe on Day 15 each stole a partner: Nicolas chose Courtney, Zoe chose Chris. Aaron declared he was leaving the show but decided to stay the next day.
