Plot
Louie takes his daughters Lilly and Jane trick-or-treating. Despite his discomfort, he lets them continue as night falls. Two costumed punks follow and try to scare them, but Jane confronts them. Louie breaks a store window to menace the punks, scaring them off. Later, Louie helps rewrite a cop movie called Out of Here.
Production
Louis C.K. wrote and directed the episode, his 23rd writing and directing credit for the series. C.K. called it "the weakest episode of the season," citing the quick shoot of the first segment as making for an "odd" experience. He felt the second segment lacked something, explaining he shot something expecting it to go somewhere but it never did. He doubted the audience cared about his character's dashed expectations.
Reception
The episode was seen by an estimated 0.73 million household viewers with a 0.4 in the 18-49 demographics, a slight increase from the previous episode's 0.64 million viewers. Critics gave positive reviews. Nathan Rabin of The A.V. Club gave a "B+" grade, calling it one of the weakest episodes of a strong season but noting the high bar set by earlier episodes. Alan Sepinwall of HitFix found it entertaining despite being in a minor key, linking stories about pushing past limitations. Joshua Kurp of Vulture deemed it not great but funny enough.
