Lore & Background

Jensen, a former IO Interactive developer, drew the sketches in 2004 that led to Limbo, and an art-style teaser in 2006 brought him together with Patti. Playdead had eight employees during Limbo's development, with up to 16 at times through freelancers, and the game's success let them buy the company back from its investors. Its second game, Inside, a spiritual successor to Limbo, was released in 2016.
