The third color has varied, including black, white, red, green, copper, or dark gold. Tigres' main rival is Monterrey, and their derby is called the Clásico Regiomontano, considered one of the most intense in Mexican football after the Clásico Nacional. After relegation in 1996, fans maintained full attendance during the club's year in Ascenso MX.

The supporters are nicknamed "Incomparables" and are known for their traveling support. The largest ultra group, Libres y Lokos, was founded in 1998. On 9 March 2013, over 23,000 fans traveled to San Luis Potosí for a match against San Luis FC.
