Jamie Denbo created the comedy-drama American Princess, which aired on Lifetime starting June 2, 2019. Denbo also wrote for and executive produced the show alongside Jenji Kohan and Tara Herrmann. Lifetime cancelled the series after its first season.

Premise
Amanda, a socialite from the Upper East Side, flees to a Renaissance Faire after her wedding falls apart. Her perfect ceremony is ruined when she catches her fiancé cheating hours before the event. Furious, she acts out and escapes, winding up lost at the Faire without her phone. When her tantrum hits the tabloids, she has a breakdown and rethinks everything, ultimately deciding to stay on as the Faire's newest wench-in-waiting.
Production
Lifetime ordered a ten-episode first season of American Princess on August 10, 2017. The series was created and written by Jamie Denbo, who also executive produced with Jenji Kohan and Tara Herrmann. A+E Studios and IM Global Television were the production companies. Claire Scanlon was announced as director on April 26, 2018, and later confirmed to direct the pilot and season finale. The premiere date was set for June 2, 2019. Georgia Flood, Lucas Neff, Seana Kofoed, Rory O’Malley, and Mary Hollis Inboden joined the main cast on April 24, 2018. Additional recurring cast members were announced in May and July 2018. Principal photography started on July 6, 2018 in Los Angeles, California.
