Lethal Weapon Codexery

Lethal Weapon (TV series)

A reboot of the buddy cop film franchise.

In May 2018, Clayne Crawford was fired from the show due to on-set behavioral issues.[1][2] Fox gave the series a green light in May 2016, and its first episode aired on September 21 of that year.[3] During October, Fox ordered a complete first season consisting of 18 episodes.[3] Wayans explained that his exit was due to health issues, disclosing that he has diabetes.[4]

To accommodate Wayans, the production team adjusted his filming timetable and supplied diabetic-friendly food on set.[4]

What the maker and period sources say

A Deadline Hollywood article from May 2016 reported that the series was ordered by Fox alongside five other new shows.[5] The same article stated the series is based on the blockbuster action franchise and is from Warner Bros. TV.[5] The logline described the show as following classic cop duo Martin Riggs and Roger Murtaugh working a crime-ridden beat in modern-day Los Angeles.[5] A TVLine article from May 2018 reported that Seann William Scott was hired to replace Clayne Crawford, with Fox's president of entertainment calling Scott "a fantastic addition"[2]

The same article mentioned that Crawford's character Riggs was shot during the final episode of the season.[2]
