Lore & Background
In the episode, David and Farouk fight a psychic battle. Farouk seems to overpower David, but Lenny uses a paintball gun to shoot a device that emits a frequency affecting the Choke. The scene is interrupted by a three-year time jump showing Oliver and Melanie in the ice cube, noting that Syd was betrayed by David. Back in the present, without their powers, David brutally attacks Farouk. As David is about to kill him, Syd arrives and confronts him about his dark nature. She pulls out a gun and shoots him, but Lenny shoots Syd's gun out of her hand, causing her to fall unconscious. David alters Syd's memories, and Division 3 agents capture Farouk and Lenny. David and Syd remain in a relationship, with David not revealing the memory alteration. Cary later creates a device to see the desert events and witnesses David changing Syd's memories.
