Opened in 2003 as Home Depot Center, the $150 million complex was developed and operated by the Anschutz Entertainment Group. It was renamed StubHub Center on June 1, 2013, and became Dignity Health Sports Park on January 1, 2019. The main stadium hosted the first three editions (2004–2006) of the USA Sevens rugby tournament, and again hosted the 2020, 2022, and 2023 events.

The complex includes a 27,000-seat soccer stadium, an 8,000-seat tennis stadium, a 2,450-seat velodrome, and a track-and-field facility with 2,000 permanent seats expandable to 20,000. The soccer stadium was the second American sports arena designed specifically for soccer in the MLS era. It hosted the 2003 MLS All-Star Game and MLS Cup in 2003, 2004, 2008, 2011, 2012, 2014, and 2024.
