Background

It was the band's first tour without its trademark makeup, after the members were shown without it on MTV in September 1983. It opened in Cascais, Portugal on October 11, 1983, and Gene Simmons said fan reaction in Europe was greater than ever. Vincent was fired after the tour, partly over excessive soloing at a 1984 concert in Quebec.
