The Keyblade War

The Keyblade War was the ancient conflict fought over the χ-blade, an object of immense power whose light drove many to battle for it. It ended in the world now called the Keyblade Graveyard, the setting of the climax of Birth by Sleep and Kingdom Hearts III, and its aftermath left the χ-blade shattered into seven pieces of light and thirteen of darkness; the world left in ruins by the war later had Scala ad Caelum built on its remains. Kingdom Hearts χ, a prequel set thousands of years before the first game, covers the events leading up to the war, and Union χ reveals Ventus as a member of the Dandelions and one of the five Union leaders chosen after it ended. In Kingdom Hearts III, Sora and his friends try to stop Xehanort from bringing about a second Keyblade War.
