Reader's Guide
Axel serves as one of the primary antagonists turned allies within the Organization XIII narrative arc. He utilizes fire-based magic and dual chakrams to fight with speed and aggression, often taunting opponents while maintaining high mobility. His emotional core revolves around his friendship with Roxas and Xion. Despite serving under Xemnas, Axel prioritizes their well-being over orders, leading him to betray the Organization when necessary. His defining moment comes in Kingdom Hearts II, when he helps Sora reach The World That Never Was as an apology for kidnapping Kairi and sacrifices himself so Sora can escape. Ultimately, his arc is one of redemption. While he dissolves as a Nobody, this sacrifice clears the path for Lea to regain his body and memory.
