The history between Kendrick Lamar and SZA is rooted in their shared upbringing at Top Dawg Entertainment, where they grew alongside one another as young artists finding their voices. Their professional relationship began taking shape around 2015, marking a significant era of collaboration that would define much of their subsequent work. SZA's contributions to Kendrick's albums are characterized by her ability to provide melodic and emotional counterweights to his intricate wordplay. She appears on landmark tracks that explore themes of infidelity, self-doubt, and societal pressure, adding a layer of softness and realism to the often intense narratives.
