Playing career

Pascal Pelletier got his start in the 1996 and 1997 Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournaments, skating for a minor team out of Quebec City. He went undrafted and spent time in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League before turning pro with the ECHL's Louisiana IceGators. During the 2005–06 season, he inked an AHL deal with the Providence Bruins, and after a strong year there, the parent Boston Bruins gave him an NHL contract on August 7, 2006. His first taste of NHL action came in the 2007–08 season, when Boston called him up from Providence on January 16, 2008; he suited up for six games. On July 24, 2008, the Bruins sent him to the Chicago Blackhawks in exchange for Martin St. Pierre, and he signed a one-year pact with Chicago on August 8, 2008. After a season with the Blackhawks' AHL affiliate, the Rockford IceHogs, he signed a one-year deal with the Columbus Blue Jackets for 2009–10. On December 8, 2009, Columbus traded him to the St. Louis Blues for Brendan Bell and Tomas Kana, and he was promptly assigned to the Blues' AHL team, the Peoria Rivermen. On May 19, 2010, he headed to Europe on a one-year contract with the SCL Tigers of Switzerland's National League A. Three seasons later, on July 5, 2013, he came back to North America on a one-year, two-way contract with the Vancouver Canucks. He began the 2013–14 season with the AHL's Utica Comets, got called up on October 20, and played his first NHL game since 2009. On June 24, 2014, with limited chances in Vancouver, he chose to go back to Europe on a one-year deal with Medveščak Zagreb of the KHL. After a single 2016–17 season with the Canucks' AHL affiliate, the Utica Comets, he returned to Switzerland on August 14, 2017, signing with the GCK Lions of the Swiss League.
