Lore & Background
John makes his way through Gianna's coronation and finds her in her dressing room; she chooses to slit her wrists, and he shoots her to end her suffering. Leaving, he is attacked by her bodyguard Cassian and flees into the catacombs, where Santino's bodyguard Ares double-crosses him. The fight with Cassian carries into the Rome Continental, where the two are stopped from 'conducting business', and Julius gives John safe passage back to New York.
