The film follows the Star Twinkle PreCure team—Hikaru, Lala, Elena, and Madoka—as they are transported to outer space by a bird-like creature named Piton using the Miracle Light device. They are joined by the Hug! Pretty Cure team and the Kirakira Pretty Cure a la Mode team. The three teams face a dark cloud that attacks Piton, and after initial failures, they are separated onto three different planets where they briefly bond. The villain Yango, who had manipulated events, brainwashes citizens across the universe using Dark Lights, but the Cures ultimately defeat him with the completed Miracle Light and the attack 'Pretty Cure Miracle Universe Twinkle.'
