Characters
Botan Kamiina, the title character, is a 20-year-old university student from Nagano Prefecture. She dislikes carbonated drinks because they make her burp, but drinks for the first time after encountering Ibuki Tonami, curious about what she was drinking. She has a fondness for seafood due to coming from a landlocked prefecture and is afraid of thunder from an incident at age 10. As of Chapter 27, she is in a romantic relationship with Ibuki. Ibuki Tonami is a third-year university student from Toyama Prefecture and the dorm supervisor of Botan's dormitory. She likes alcohol but avoids drinking in public due to hiccups. She develops a close friendship with Botan as drinking partners, and they are in a romantic relationship as of Chapter 27. Kanade Gujō is a graduate student from Gifu Prefecture in her first year of a master's degree; she has feelings for Ibuki and is disappointed in Ibuki's closeness to Botan. Yaeka Kitamori is a second-year university student from Yamanashi Prefecture who enjoys the outdoors and has a close friendship with Akane; she later gets a motorcycle license. Akane Yusa is a second-year university student and good friend of Yaeka; she inherited a strong interest in music from her parents, plays guitar in a band called YOus!R, and later considers dropping out of college. Chin-Lan Chang is a student from Yilan, Taiwan; she develops feelings for Kanade and is aware of Kanade's crush on Ibuki.

Written and illustrated by Hey, Botan Kamiina Fully Blossoms When Drunk began serialization on Akita Shoten's Champion Cross manga service on March 19, 2019. The first tankōbon volume was published on January 20, 2020, and eight volumes have been released as of May 2026. An anime television series adaptation was announced on March 12, 2025, produced by Aniplex, animated by Soigne, and directed by Takashi Sakuma, with Shuntarō Tozawa as assistant director, Yoko Yonaiyama writing series scripts, Kou Yoshinari designing characters, and Kana Hashiguchi composing music. The series aired from April 11 to June 27, 2026, on Tokyo MX and other networks. The opening theme is "Mebuku Toki" by yonige, and the ending theme is "Kanjō Glass" performed by the main cast. Crunchyroll streams the series, and Muse Communication licensed it in Southeast Asia.
