Plot
Momo Ayase, a high school girl who believes in ghosts but not aliens, and her friend Ken Takakura, nicknamed Okarun, who believes in aliens but not ghosts, make a bet to determine who is correct. They separately visit locations tied to the occult and the supernatural—Momo to the former, Okarun to the latter. Momo is abducted by aliens who accidentally unblock her chakras, awakening latent psychic abilities, while Okarun is possessed by a cursed spirit. After rescuing each other, Momo uses her psychokinetic power to suppress Okarun's curse, giving him a depressed demon form with Turbo Granny's powers. Returning to her grandmother's shrine, they encounter a Flatwoods monster and battle it. Momo becomes unconscious from exhaustion, allowing Turbo Granny to possess Okarun. Momo's grandmother Seiko, also known as the disreputable spirit medium Santa Dodoria, saves Momo and coaches the teens on defeating Turbo Granny. The film ends with Momo and Okarun heading to the abandoned tunnel where Turbo Granny resides to challenge her and free Okarun from the curse.
