Kyocera Stadium

A multi-use stadium in The Hague, home to ADO Den Haag and once named Kyocera Stadion.

Kyocera Stadion is a multi-use stadium in The Hague, Netherlands, designed by Zwarts & Jansma Architects. Completed in 2007, it is used mostly for football and field hockey. It is the home stadium of ADO Den Haag and ADO Den Haag Vrouwen, with a capacity of 15,000. It replaced ADO's former stadium Zuiderpark. Due to UEFA sponsorship regulations, it is named ADO Den Haag Stadium for European matches. The stadium was renamed Kyocera Stadion in June 2010 under a naming rights agreement with Japanese firm Kyocera.

Lore & Background

The stadium opened on 28 July 2007 with an event celebrating the opening. Leaders touted advanced security measures including facial recognition cameras and microphones to detect fireworks or banned chants, but these were outdated and unused by 2022. The stadium was the venue for the 2014 Hockey World Cup. For the last five months of 2019, it also served as the home of AZ Alkmaar, whose AFAS Stadion underwent renovations after a roof collapse. On 18 February 2022, the roof of the Bingoal Stadion was damaged by Storm Eunice.
