The road out of the canyon was nothing but packed dirt and the occasional rusted sign, and the engine was already growling before Jak had even killed the ignition. Daxter gripped the dashboard with both tiny hands, ears flat against the wind that poured in through the missing window. "You're going to eat us alive if you don't ease off the throttle," the ottsel hissed, though his eyes were wide and bright. Jak grinned, yanked the wheel hard left, and the little vehicle fishtailed through a cloud of ochre dust. Ahead, the road crested a ridge and dropped into a valley so green it looked painted. Somewhere down there, the next checkpoint waited. Jak didn't slow down.
