Marco Tardelli
Italian midfield legend and 1982 World Cup hero
Marco Tardelli (born 24 September 1954) is an Italian former football player and manager. At club level, he played as a midfielder for Pisa, Como, Juventus, Inter Milan, and St. Gallen. With Juventus, he won five league titles, multiple Coppa Italia titles, and four major UEFA competitions. He also achieved success with the Italy national team, winning the 1982 FIFA World Cup.

Background
Tardelli's iconic goal celebration in the 1982 World Cup final – running away shaking his fists, tears pouring down his face, screaming 'Gol! Gol!' – is regarded as one of the most iconic moments in World Cup history. He was one of the first three players ever to win all three major UEFA club competitions, alongside Antonio Cabrini and Gaetano Scirea. He earned 81 caps for Italy and served as captain between 1983 and 1985.
